Job: April Fools campaign
Fireball UK wanted to prank their loyal fanbase on April Fools’. The idea? Launch a brand-new pink version of their signature red-hot cinnamon liquor and call it Pointlessly Pink.
I wrote landing page copy, complete with product details and release dates, alongside social media announcements to help drive excitement. Despite a minimal ad budget, the Pointlessly Pink campaign caught fire, generating 150k+ shares online, thousands of landing page visits, and even boosting orders for the original Fireball Whiskey on Amazon.
The rather cruel, but equally best thing about it, was the campaign caused such a ruckus that tremors reached America soil. OG fans across the US started to visit retail stores in search for pink Fireball bottles. Unfortunately for them, it didn’t exist. It was just a silly game by the British.
Funnier still, the whole thing was shortlisted for Low Budget - Social Media Campaign of the Year by SocialDay.
