Job: Product Packaging Descriptions
I worked with Pilgrims Choice (that tasty cheese brand) to help develop new back-of-pack descriptions for their entire cheddar range. The project was part of a broader redesign that saw the brand introduce new packaging with 40% less plastic.
With a tight character limit, I wrote descriptions that highlighted each cheddar’s unique flavour, the best ways to enjoy it, and evoked some of the oozy feelings associated with tucking into cheese. I also wove in the brand’s bold and playful tone of voice-something I personally helped to develop during my time writing for the brand.
In the end, I completed new product descriptions for Pilgrims Choice Mature, Extra Mature, Vintage, and their low-fat range. It’s great to see my words on supermarket shelves, but what tickles me most—more than anything—is that a piece of me might be sitting in your fridge right now?
