JOB: SOCIAL MEDIA APRIL FOOLS CAMPAIGN
In April 2023, the agency I worked for pulled off a bold April Fools’ prank for Vimto. The idea? Play on a common mispronunciation and tell everyone that Vimto was rebranding as Vimpto.
It was my job to come up with a headline for a fake billboard and unleash the news across the brand’s social media. What seemed fairly innocuous at the time ended up growing into a big purple monster.
This single organic post went viral, reaching over 2.8m people on Meta alone. It even caught the attention of media outlets like LadBible and The Sun.
